The SafeRoads Alliance for Transport and Mobility (SATM) held a technical consultation meeting with the Ministry of Transport to explore opportunities for collaboration on improving road safety in Cameroon. The meeting followed earlier engagements and proposals submitted by SATM, including recommendations on strengthening enforcement mechanisms and enhancing the effectiveness of speed cameras.
Discussions focused on key road safety challenges, including driver behavior, policy implementation, and the need for data-driven interventions. The meeting provided a platform for constructive dialogue between civil society and government, reinforcing SATM’s role as a strategic partner in advancing road safety advocacy and contributing to the development of safer transport systems nationwide.
SATM expanded its school outreach program through the establishment of the SafeRoads Crusaders Club at Christ The King College (CKC) in Nkwen. The event focused on educating students about road safety principles, including safe pedestrian practices, the dangers of reckless road use, and the importance of responsible behavior on the roads.
The launch created an opportunity for students to actively engage in road safety advocacy through structured club activities. By equipping students with knowledge and leadership skills, SATM aims to foster a culture of safety and responsibility among young road users while extending the impact of road safety education beyond the classroom
As part of its continued efforts to promote road safety education in schools, SATM established SafeRoads Crusaders Clubs at ASEC Primary and Secondary Schools in Yaoundé. The sensitization sessions engaged students on key road safety topics such as safe road crossing, awareness of traffic signs, and the risks associated with unsafe road behavior.
Through the creation of these clubs, students are encouraged to take ownership of road safety initiatives within their school environment. The program supports ongoing awareness activities, peer-to-peer learning, and student-led campaigns, helping to build a generation of informed and responsible road users.

Through this partnership, both organizations aim to enhance their impact in addressing road traffic injuries and promoting safer mobility across their respective countries.
